Biography

Born in Tokyo,  Japan.  From the age of 4, she received classical piano lessons from Akiko Suzuki.

Studied jazz at the Mate School of Music in Tokyo.  During this time, she performed with various pop, rock and funk bands and her own Dynamite Jazz Quartet in live clubs in Tokyo.  She was accepted as a scholarship student at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, and studied jazz piano, arrangement  and composition. With her mentor and renowned pianist Joanne Brackeen, she had fascinating experiences as a pianist and composer.  The discovery of Brazilian music was an important inspiration for her future musical styles.

In 2000, she graduated with an honorary degree, ''Magna cum Laude''. 

 

In 2003  she studied church organ at the Zurich University of the Arts.  Her return to classical music was a discovery for new perspective of her music. Her encounters with classical musicians led to new interesting projects. She is fascinated by the depth, rich tradition and perfect beauty of classical music, as well as the freedom, spontaneity and impulsiveness of jazz.  These two worlds are combined in her music.

Since 2001  she has lived in Zurich as a pianist, organist  and composer.  She performs jazz, classical, fusion, funk, pop, world music  and Brazilian music, as well as with big bands, gospel choirs, studio and film music recordings in Switzerland, France, and Germany. Music has no boundaries.

In dieser Zeit Auftritte mit verschiedenen Pop-, Rock-, Funkbands und dem eigenen Dynamite Jazz Quartet in Live Clubs in Tokyo.
Sie wurde akzeptiert als Stipendiatin am Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA. und studierte Jazz Klavier, Arrangement und Komposition. Bei ihrer Mentorin und berühmte Pianistin Joanne Brackeen hat sie wertvolle Erfahrungen als Pianistin und Komponistin erlebt. Entdeckung der brasilianische Musik war wichtige Impulse für ihre zukünftige Musikrichtungen.  Im Jahr 2000 hat sie mit Ehren Titel, Magna cum Laude abgeschlossen.

2003 Kirchenorgel-Studium an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste.  Ihre Rückkehr zur klassischen Musik war eine Entdeckung neuer Perspektiven für ihre Musik. Aus der Begegnung mit klassischen Musikern entstanden wiederum neue interessante Projekte.  Die tiefgründige, reiche Tradition und die perfekte Schönheit der Klassik faszinieren sie, ebenso wie die Freiheiten, das Spontane und das Impulsive des Jazz. Diese zwei Welten verbinden sich in ihrer Musik.
Seit 2001 lebt sie in Zürich als Pianistin, Organistin, Komponistin. Auftritte mit Jazz, Klassik, Fusion, Funk, Pop, World- und Brasilianische Musik, auch mit Big Bands, Gospel Chor, Studio und Film Musik Aufnahmen in der Schweiz, Frankreich und Deutschland.  Musik hat keine Grenzen.
